NF PROCUREMENT QUICK GUIDE
Wire-Core, Coreless or Metallic Twist Ties?
Compare construction, appearance and supply format for packaging purchases.

Choose construction before appearance
The core and outer covering serve different purposes. NF’s wire-core ties are offered with PVC, PE or PP coverings; its coreless series is PET. Metallic ties use PET with wire. A metallic appearance does not mean the tie has the same construction or dimensions as a coreless product.
Match the tie to the closure
Start with the item or bag neck to be closed, the required tie length and the intended opening method. For a metal-free packaging requirement, ask about the PET coreless series and confirm the final composition. For decorative packaging, review metallic samples under the lighting used for your finished pack.

Send Your Requirements ↗Specify the packing-line format
Rolls suit cut-to-length workflows. Pre-cut ties provide an agreed length. Connected strips group a specified number of ties per row. NF’s connected-strip catalog lists 38–500 mm cut lengths and 5–60 ties per row; confirm the exact covering and dimensions for your order.
Treat documentation as a separate requirement
A product being shown in a bag-closure application does not establish a food-contact approval. Provide the target use, market and documentation requirements before a material is selected. Trial the final tie with the bag and packing process.
Information sources and scope
This guide combines NF catalog information with product-specific references. Other manufacturers’ examples describe their own products and do not establish an NF rating. Final dimensions, material grade and acceptance requirements must match the quoted configuration.
